Attitudes

What do you love now, that you hated when you were younger?

When I was much younger, I hated chickpeas in any kind of dish. Nobody could convince me to eat them. Today, I love eating chickpeas, especially in salads.

Another thing is, I wasn’t much of a sports freak, except for riding a bike. But for the last 5 years, I have exercised almost daily. It helps me keep my balance, body, and mind, and reduces excess adrenaline.

However, one thing I still run from, like the devil from incense, is algebra and parabolas. I never got a clue about it, and I don’t think I ever will.

Writing these lines made me realize that life’s journey changes our tastes and preferences. We outgrow some, but other attitudes remain deeply rooted inside us.

Vasos, this is such a beautifully honest reflection. It takes wisdom to step back and notice how we evolve—from the foods we once rejected to the daily rituals (like exercise) that become our anchors.

And I absolutely love your humor about algebra and parabolas—some mysteries truly are lifelong, and there’s a quiet strength in knowing what we don’t need to figure out. That self-awareness is its own kind of parabola, isn’t it? Ebbing, flowing, but always circling back to you.

Thank you for sharing this little slice of your journey—it’s a gentle reminder that growth isn’t about changing everything, but about making peace with what stays and celebrating what transforms. 🚴‍♂️🧆

Haha. Yes, build a life wherein no parabolas must be faced!
