I’m trilingual; I speak German, Greek, and English.

So, how did I come to speak these 3 languages?

I’m Greek but was born and raised in Germany, which means I normally went to a German school. At home, my parents spoke Greek. This resulted in my having 2 native languages. But to be honest, I often switched to German at home. This has had, and still has, the effect of making me consider German my first native language.

As for English, I learned it in school and later took additional lessons to improve my skills and earn a certificate confirming my fluency.

Generally speaking, learning languages has a major advantage: being able to communicate in different languages also helps you learn a lot about different cultures.
