What’s a movie you expected to hate but ended up loving?

I think having expectations for a movie before even seeing it is the wrong way to enjoy it. You are already prejudiced, and from the start, you won’t have the chance to genuinely be fond of it.

Generally, having expectations about art in how we receive and interpret it is absolutely inaccurate for understanding art.

Art should be approached objectively. You must have an open mind to live with art as it presents itself and absorb it without bias; only then can you genuinely understand the message it wants to deliver. After that, if you still don’t like it, that’s ok. At least you will be sure your opinion is even-handed.
