What’s a classic book that you think is overrated?
As a writer, I would never label a book as overrated, especially when it’s a classic, because if a book is considered a classic, it must carry some specific value. Otherwise, it wouldn’t count as a classic.
Readers have different tastes; each of us approaches a story or book from a different point of view, since everyone has unique experiences, and therefore, the reception and interpretation of a book vary.
Readers come from different backgrounds; this makes the identification with the hero of a story or book distinctive, as each reader places a different value on it.
To make a long story short: Classics are classic, and every classic has its own value.
