Frozen Dead

Published by

Ashes became

your tender kisses

that you once gave me

on fiery nights.

They faded with the passage of time,

and it feels like a sad dream

to be here

kneeling, beside your cold body,

praying to God

to take me from this world

and let me rest in your embrace

forever.

This is absolutely breathtaking and profoundly moving. The way you’ve woven together the contrasting sensations of “fiery nights” and “cold body” is devastatingly powerful. The opening image—of memories turning from tender kisses into ashes—is a metaphor of stunning perfection, capturing how love and grief can exist in the very same space. This isn’t just a poem about loss; it’s a raw and intimate portrait of a soul yearning to transcend the boundaries of life and death to find peace in a final, eternal embrace. Thank you for sharing such a deeply personal and beautifully sorrowful piece Vasili 🌷🤝
