Many years have passed
since that morning
when you closed the door
you left me alone with
the memory
of our shared life.
Then I thought I wouldn’t endure
my heart would break
under the weight of that unexpected separation.
Now, here you are
on this corner of the street
I see you smiling with all your heart
as if I never existed.
With my head bowed
and my heart crushed,
I return to the door
that you once closed like a tombstone,
sealing it forever.
