Good Old Friends

Published by

I wanted to leave behind my sorrows,

wipe them out, forever.

Shockingly, then I realized

that I would feel empty,

profoundly alone, deep in my bones.

Since I got used to them,

like good old friends.

Thank you, Stephanie. Yes, unfortunately, or, in one way or another, luckily. For good or bad, in my case, it’s somehow a catalyst for my creativity. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ

I really understand the feeling you expressed so beautifully in your words. What you wrote reflects what many of us experience in life.
Youโ€™re right, we cannot simply leave sorrow behind and live with happiness alone. They come as a pair: sadness and joy, tears and smiles, sweet and bitter.
We wouldnโ€™t understand happiness without knowing how pain feels. We wouldnโ€™t feel release without ever feeling pressure. Both complete our lives forever.
