Nobody told me
love would hurt so much.
Deep down
in the cave of the soul.
Where a wound
would burn endlessly
like a low-burning flame,
keeping this ailing love alive.
Here I am now
holding the pieces of my heart
in my hands,
trying to stick them together,
even knowing
the cracks will remain forever,
till the last day of my breath.
