What brands do you associate with?

Brands, such as those for cars, clothing, and electrical appliances, have undergone significant development over the last 20-30 years. When I refer to a significant development, I don’t mean only its quality, but also its influence on consumers.

In our time, many individuals have developed a dependency on brands. What I mean exactly is that they need luxury brands to boost their self-confidence and establish their social status. Otherwise, they would feel that they have achieved nothing in life.

So, as for me, I’ve never paid crucial attention to brands, be it in clothing, cars, or especially in electrical appliances, not at all. As for the last-mentioned, it is important to me to satisfy my requirements at a reasonable price.

Generally, when I look for brands, it’s more about clothing, and there I prefer simple brands that everyone can afford, like Nike, Adidas, Fila, and Puma. However, you can sense that I’m more associated with athletic brands. I like it more casually and comfortably. If I had to choose one favorite among them, this would be adidas.

When I was young, my parents couldn’t afford any name-brand clothes or shoes, with seven of us in the house and my dad the only bread winner.

I remember my brothers asking for them, saying their friends at school teased them about what they wore.

I don’t remember ever getting teased for wearing clothes from Sears, and I learned that as long as they were comfortable, why spend the extra for a name?

I do remember when I was raising my children, that some of the poorest families I knew were buying $100 shoes for their kids. I was shocked! Back then that was a week’s worth of groceries for four of us.

Even now, when we can afford it, are they really worth the money? I don’t really know, because I won’t spend that much on clothes and shoes.

I recently purchased some $55 Sketchers sandals thinking maybe my feet would feel loved. They are not that comfortable.

For a tennis shoe, I do like the LA Gears I picked up on sale. Most comfortable shoes I own. 🙂
