The mountains lay majestically before me
like life itself,
but I did not let myself be intimidated.
And so I set out to accomplish this arduous task.
I climbed piece by piece
from rock to rock
the brittle life,
unmindful of pain, sorrow, and suffering
briefly reveling in joy and happiness.
And so I struggled through.
Day by day,
week by week,
year by year,
until I reached the summit
proud and with a cheerful heart
looking down into the valley
at the fragments of life
scattered like dispersed memories.
