Passed

Years have passed

with them, the joys

like sudden flashes of lightning.

Also the sorrows have passed

like slow-moving turtles

which were displeasing.

And thus irrevocably

the years have rolled by.

So somewhere here

ends the journey of life

and what remains is

its bittersweet taste.

This poem reflects on the fleeting nature of time—both joy and sorrow passing, one swift as lightning, the other slow but inevitable. The imagery is vivid (lightning vs. turtles), and the ending carries a quiet resignation, acknowledging life’s bittersweet essence. A poignant meditation on impermanence. Beautiful poem thanks for sharing 🤝
