What’s your definition of romantic?

Seems someone is in a romantic mood…

Anyway, I will describe my view of romanticism as it was when I was in my mid-20s.

Romance is writing to each other daily, sending short love notes, and sticking them on the fridge, the mirror, or on the last page of a book someone has stopped reading. Also romantic is giving small gifts at unexpected moments, such as flowers, a book, or a massage.

Watching the sunrise or sunset together, cooking for each other, and eating under candlelight on a warm summer evening by the sea, enjoying the salty breeze and the sound of the waves. Hugging each other for hours can be romantic, just hugging and listening to each other’s heartbeat and breath. Has anyone ever experienced this? You are free to comment on this question.

As I mentioned above, I would answer this question as if I were in my mid-20s. The reason is that in the meantime, I don’t place much focus on romantic things. Of course, romance is essential to keep a relationship fresh, spicy, and exciting. However, life experiences and the transformation I have undergone in the recent few years have changed my attitude. For me, the crucial and substantial parts of a relationship must include companionship, loyalty, absolute trust, and deep, genuine love. These are the salt and pepper in a relationship; the chili sauce or paste, romance, is the supplement.
