Change

What fears have you overcome and how?

Yesterday, @lovelifelappinessmore.blog, in her prompt “Growth,” wrote a very accurate phrase in my view: “Growth is not always pleasant.”

When we want to grow, we have to change. And change, for most of us, I guess, is something fearful. Why? Because change urges you to step out of your comfort zone and into the unknown—be it a new job, a new relationship, a new friend, a friend circle, a new neighborhood, etc. This unknown can sometimes be scary; you don’t know how it will progress or the outcome. But facing this fear and handling the underlying feelings fear brings is the process of growing.

As we know, man is a creature of habit, and making that crucial decision to change can sometimes take too much time, further increasing the consequences of missed chances. I was like this during my early 20s; I didn’t like change and surely missed essential opportunities, which would have led me on another path.

However, I overcame my fear in my late 20s / early 30s. It was when I was more open to change and took risks. But my most crucial and essential change was in the last five years. I made the most significant risky changes and am still working on them. In other words, they are still in progress, and I love this journey with the unknown destination.

That’s LIFE!

Exactly, that’s how it is. The last eight years have been a process of change for me, and now I’m finally feeling like I’m getting the rewards, slowly but steadily. ☺️
