Dis-Influential

Who was your most influential teacher?

Why?

My most influential teacher was my professor when I studied at the University of Athens. She gave me an important compliment that influenced my further education and later other decisions in my life.

However, teachers don’t always have a positive influence on us. Sometimes, a lack of attention or not coping correctly with a specific sensitive situation can disrupt a student’s progress, especially for a primary school pupil.

I can remember and still have reports from my primary school. I was an introverted child and had difficulties settling into daily school life. I had a very self-restrained character and didn’t participate much in the oral lessons. This inclination lasted for the whole of primary school because I felt the teacher didn’t support me. I interpreted how she approached me more as a criticism than a guide.

A slow change took place only when I started middle school. Well, this switch may have occurred because I entered my teens. Anyway, the significant shift came in my late 20s, and then I transformed and opened myself spiritually to new horizons.

True realisation of innocent childhood becomes too nostalgic towards the later phase of time.
