Alluring Stories

Anything can happen in life,

especially nothing.

~Michele Houellebecq~

What activities do you lose yourself in?

An activity that has a nurturing impact on me and tempts me to lose myself is reading.

Not reading anything allures me to lose myself, but a book with a captivating story makes it impossible for me to put it down. I’ve read so many books so far that I can’t even remember all the titles, and five books have fulfilled the abovementioned characteristics till now. The titles are:

-Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship, by Johann Wolfgang Goethe

-The Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka

-The Trial, by Franz Kafka

-Serotonin, by Michele Houellebecq

-100 Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Márquez

Another activity that also makes me forget entirely about time and surroundings is drawing. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to draw lately.

It’s a wonder we do anything else but read in all our off hours. ❤

Aside from meditation and long walks, I think reading contributes significantly to our spiritual development and well-being.

Agree with you entirely. I read a great deal, although I don’t take the time with each book I once did.

It’s a new series; it aired in February, but I got addicted and have already watched each episode too many times. 🥴🤭

I appreciate knowing about it, because there are so many. It’s hard to know which is worth trying and Severance is coming to the end of its season, so I’ll be looking for the next thing. 🙂
