Werther’s

What’s your favorite candy?

My favorite candy, well, I’m more the chocolate type, especially dark chocolate. I’ve already mentioned it many times.

Now, when it comes to candies, like drops, candy canes, and other similar things, I prefer to nibble on Werther’s Original, or, as its German original name is, Werther’s Echte.

These candies are named after the town of Werther, Westphalia, in Germany. The company was founded in 1903, and the brand’s marketing began in 1969. I still remember the TV advertisements in the 1990s in which the grandfather gave his grandchild tasty Werther.

OMG, I thought this post was about The Sorrows of Young Werther! 😀
I remember those candies from the ’90s in my country when I was a kid. Later, they mysteriously disappeared from the shops.

These have been all the rage at work lately, mostly younger kids bringing them in. It’s funny because here they’re associated with older folks. 😀

In Germany they advertised them with a Grandfather with his grandchild ☺️

Ahh, so the impression is universal, passing on a special thing. 🙂
