What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

The greatest gift for me certainly won’t be a luxury car, super-expensive jewelry, or anything similar since I have a plain, humble approach to these items.

Anyway, the perfect gift for me would be Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s diaries. The publisher, J.B. Metzler, has a special historical-critical edition (I think it’s around 10 volumes) of Goethe’s diaries, and I dream of having them in my library.

I already have Goethe’s correspondence with Schiller, which includes around a thousand letters, so his diaries would be a great addition to my library.

Generally, books are perfect for me. I love books. Books are like the mother’s milk for babies to me. I need books because reading books nurtures me to grow spiritually. It helps me widen my horizons and experience different cultures and lives. Reading opens the door to another world.
