How have your political views changed over time?
I can say that I developed an interest in politics at a very young age. I started reading newspapers at the age of 13, even those with a deep focus on politics. This interest intensified after I had read more about history, and I understood how past and present political events were interrelated.
My political interest hasn’t changed; I only follow and observe. I never got actively involved in politics. As time and events have passed, my views regarding politics have evolved to be more critical. For example, the European Union, I remember how excited we were during the 90s about the European Union, that life would be so much easier through it, and there was this wave of feeling that we were Europeans, all united. Unfortunately, things didn’t develop as expected. I think the politics the European Union is imposing today don’t correlate with the vision of the former politicians who had brought the EU to life.
Lately, I’m used to comparing politics and its execution with the methods of the Mafia. They’re almost the same; the difference is that Policy grounds its power on laws written in the Constitution, whereas the laws of the Mafia are verbally transferred. But the methods of the Policy and the Mafia are the same with the difference that the Policy uses the law, its backdoors, and gaps to manipulate the people, always with the justification to act by the law, which, of course, is not the case. In both cases, the interests and ultimate goals of the policies and the Mafia are money and power; they do everything to achieve that goal. Even if that means exploiting and sacrificing human beings.
