Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).
The most expensive item I purchased, and it shouldn’t be a home or a car.
So, I guess price and item size must have a significant relation. I mean items like jewelry, brands of clothing, accessories, an electric facility, etc. To summarize, items whose characteristics are more of a materialistic sense.
Well, I was never keen on or emotionally connected to materialistic things, like I explained above; forever since I can remember, I have paid more attention to the spiritual things of life. Items that were important to me, and I had to buy them no matter what, even the price, were things like music and DVDs (I grew up in the 90s; nowadays, you download everything from the web). And most of all, books. I was and am a book freak; I love books, and books are my passion!
When I had to write my final thesis for my bachelor’s degree, my thesis theme was „Franz Kafka, The Letter to His Father. The Father-Son Conflict in Literature. “
I decided to purchase some books to help me work on my thesis better and add some essential books to my personal library later. One book was quite expensive, and I gave it a second thought, but finally, I bought it. The book’s title is „Franz Kafka—The Tyrant Son, Andro-Sphinx—Oedipus—and Castration Complex. Key to Comprehend His Prose. “ The title is translated from German.
Now, you may wonder how much I paid for that book. I remember I paid 98 Euros, 105 Dollars. But I checked it on the Web, and its price today is 125 Euros, 133 Dollars. It’s a pretty high price for a book, but I enjoyed reading it. I learned a lot from it, and most importantly, I got the highest grade for my thesis.
Here’s a pic of that book:
