What brings you peace?
It’s almost a miracle that someone can reach a state of peace in today’s rhythm of life. Society has progressed rapidly in terms of work, competitiveness, our status in society, and generally what we expect from life.
Our passion is to be the best, always be well-informed about everything, know everything, and stand out at work and among our family and friends. Our urge to own the most luxurious house, car, smartphone, etc., throws us into a never-ending circle of stress, mentally and physically.
It is out of the question that one day comes the point of breakdown, and we long for a state of total peace. Be away from everyone and everything; the best is on an isolated island. Well, lucky the ones who can afford such an expensive trip of isolation.
But some people can’t have that access to luxurious, peaceful adventures like me. Even if we aren’t captured in the stress circle, we need peace from those in the circle. So, what can we do to keep our state of mind peaceful and not get dragged into a harmful lifestyle for us?
I personally try to find happiness and pleasant, calm feelings in the small things of life. Depending on the hour, that could be reading a good book while drinking a glass of wine, beer, coffee, or hot chocolate. Or watching a movie—okay, not a thriller or science fiction film, but a comedy film. Laughing is always good for health. In the last couple of months, I’ve realized that listening to mantras relaxes me and keeps me peaceful.
All in all, I emphasize and concentrate on the simple things that can provide me with a harmonically peaceful life.
