Always travel safely

Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.

Some news is not much of interest to a specific group of people, and for others, this news can be thrilling. It’s hard to say which news is boring since human tastes and interests differ hugely.

Well, let’s go back to my uninteresting news story.

The village where I live and its club members are making a five-day trip to Nafplio-Spetses-Poros-Idra-Epidauros-Palamidi-Bourtzi-Galtas. That tour takes place from 11 to 15 September 2024. A few weeks ago, they organized a festival with music, food, and a lottery and gathered an acceptable sum of money. So, they have decided to make that full-packed holiday trip.

How does it relate to my life? As I mentioned, I live in that village, and my sister is a club member.

I decided not to participate in this trip because the club members are terrible trip organizers. Visiting 8 places in 5 days is too much, considering the journey starts from the north of Greece and ends over 800 km away in the south. Also, I think that’s not a high-quality way to spend time when you really want to discover and enjoy a place.

If I remember well, they tried to make that trip last year during the floods in the middle part of Greece. However, despite the floods -they had to pass this area- they started that trip, got stuck for two days, and found themselves in danger.

I think that’s a very reasonable reason not to travel with them.

I always leave space around my plans when traveling. I like to settle in a bit and allow for surprises. πŸ™‚
