Mending Society

Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?

I practice many activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a good connection between my body and mind.

As I’ve already mentioned many times, I work out on a daily basis to keep my body fit and in shape. However, sports don’t help only keep my body fit. They also allow me to get rid of excess adrenaline, which can burden my mental health.

My daily practice also includes meditation, which offers me relaxation and tranquility. I prefer to listen to mantras; I love the sound of the shruti box; it immediately helps me regulate my breath and fall into a trance state.

Another thing I try to practice—I’m not sure if I can call this deed practice—is helping people, especially older people. Not to get the feeling that you are doing something good but to offer love without expecting anything back and to help society improve and be more human. I think such deeds are significant in today’s lifestyle because, during the last decades, human beings have become more self-centered. In my case, my father’s sister lives in a nursing home, and she has no children, so I try to visit her regularly and bring her any necessary things she further needs.

The third is indeed a deed practice. There’s an entire ancient school of yoga built around it. 👌
