List the people you admire and look to for advice…

The people I look for advice are my parents, as I know that they want only the best for me.

The people I admire the most are also my parents for the following reason:

They married young (my mother was 16, my father was 22), and as emigrants in Germany, they started an important chapter in life together: to start a family and build their own house in their home country, where they hoped to return one day. This was the vision of the most emigrated couples in the late 60ies.

But as we know, life has its own plans and struggles. Working hard as laborers, having 3 children and supporting them on the path they have chosen, my father helping his parents and one of his sisters, and two of the three children getting married, they finally reached the goal of their own house in the year 2000.

What I admire about my parents is that they did their best, so we children are fine and have everything we need. They furthermore cared about other relatives. Despite these conditions, they never gave up on fulfilling their dream of having their dream house.

I am of the opinion that we don’t have to search very far to find our heroes because our true heroes are next to us.
