Who was your most influential teacher? Why?
The person who had a significant impact on my life path was my professor at the University of Athens. A few months before I graduated, I was deciding which Master’s program to pursue, and I was close to choosing the Education and Teaching Program. I was discussing it with her, and she told me that I should stay in the field of Literature because I am good at comparative literature and literary theory.
So, I did, and I expanded my knowledge in Literature, Philosophy, and Culture. Well, about 10 years later, I finally published my first book, which made me a writer. All I can say is that it wasn’t an easy journey over the past 10 years, especially when deciding whether to pursue a career in writing. I had to make a crucial decision because when I commit to something, I fully dedicate myself. And I believe, especially if you’re a writer, that’s a very pivotal point.
Because of that, I believe my professor’s advice was a turning point in my life, even though it happened 10 years later.
