What were your parents doing at your age?
At my age, my parents were married, had us, 3 children, and were working at Bosch. A world-famous factory founded in Stuttgart. My parents worked at the department in Reutlingen, a town where my siblings and I were born.
Compared with my parents’ life paths, I’m still single and a writer. Under the line, a completely different life.
Well, the case is that each generation faces different problems, which, of course, shape their visions and goals for the future. Furthermore, society was completely different; to speak the truth, we have easier access to profitable opportunities today. For example, to rise quickly in society. On the other hand, this also carries a risk: being swept up in illusions and falling prey to scams or more serious crimes.
Looking back on my parents’ generation, I see they had to fight harder to survive and to secure rights now taken for granted.
For that reason, I don’t know how essential these comparisons are. Still, observing the generations of my parents, mine, and the next, called Z, I have to confess that my parents’ generation was more mature than mine, especially compared to Generation Z.
