La Dolce Vita

What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

Life is sweet, and I think every one of us is clinging to it dearly. Wants to live as long as they can.

There are no objections to that, provided you can take care of yourself, with your own strength, and not depend on others, you can enjoy to the fullest. However, it becomes difficult if one is bedridden for the rest of their life. At this point, life starts getting complicated or painful. I know that from personal experience, my father’s sister is bedridden due to Parkinson’s and dementia; she can’t do anything on her own, even the simple daily necessities. She has lived like that for almost 5 years.

On the other hand, each of us has a different attitude and strength to cope with the struggles in life. Some are facing everything courageously, even serious death diseases, and fighting to stay alive, and there are others who choose euthanasia, not that they are weak, but they wish for a death in dignity, not to be a burden to others in the last part of their lives.

Under the line, I think, how we live, how long we live, and the way we want to die is a very personal matter; also, on some points, we don’t have an immediate say about what happens to us. What I mean by that is, nobody knows exactly how they will die, the final reason for their death. For example, a fatal accident can cost, suddenly and unexpectedly, someone’s life.

So, my tip for you all: Enjoy every minute of your life, don’t let yourself be dragged into unnecessary worries. Granted, you are healthy, and your fullest power is in your hands; there will always be a solution to your problems.

As I said at the beginning: LIFE IS SWEET.
