Creating Worlds

What do you enjoy most about writing?

I started writing intensively when I began studying, specifically during my 3rd semester when we had to write seminar papers. Most of my courses focused on literature, so I had to write a lot. The secondary literature had to be at least 20 books, which required a significant amount of reading and writing. It was the moment when I started to enjoy writing, combining philosophical theories with literary themes. The characteristic of this writing was, on one hand, creative, but on the other, more practical and technical since I had to connect theories with the world of literature and present evident conclusions.

Then I paused for some years with writing, as I got engaged in the field of teaching, but you can’t run away from destiny; something inside me urged me to start writing again. This time it was writing to express myself, to let my imagination free and everything that bothered me.

Now, what I enjoy most about writing is that I can create my characters, their feelings, and events. Let’s say I can invent my little worlds. Moreover, I can relieve myself from feelings that lie heavy on me by writing them in a creative expression. So in the end, I get the sense that these feelings at least had a purpose; I created something out of them. If this creation is helpful to others, that’s another theme. At least I got rid of it in a beautiful, productive way.
