What are you curious about?
I’m curious about what happens after death.
Well, sure, our body doesn’t work as it should; otherwise, we wouldn’t be dead, but what I found intriguing is what exactly happens to our soul as it is commonly regarded, in most religions, that our soul is immortal.
Recently, I’ve read an article on an Orthodox website explaining that on the first two days, the soul can travel wherever it wishes on earth in company with angels. But because the soul loves its body, it prefers to stay close at home or places where it used to be. On the third day, the soul is called to go to the heavenly realm where it will first be judged for its actions and then, in 40 days, finally find its forever fixed place and be cut off with every connection to its earthly existence.
Also fascinating is Dante’s depiction in his Divine Comedy, where the dead have to go through different stages and tests, like the Inferno and the Purgatory, before they enter Paradise.
So, hearing these kinds of theories, I find it fascinating and curious to see what actually happens. However, as we are still alive, it’s impossible to know what takes place and what someone feels. It will remain a mystery till we arrive on the other side of the shore.
