How do you balance work and home life?
Well, I’m working from home. This has advantages, but it also has disadvantages. The pros are that you are flexible, can manage your time according to your liking, your output of creativity, your energy, and in case something unexpected happens.
The negative side is that you can go too far regarding flexibility and lose time management control. That reduces your work productivity because you postpone things that must be done, and everything gets a mess. Another negative point is that you immerse yourself deeply in work. Because the home and work areas are the same, it’s sometimes challenging to flip the switch from work time to home time.
Therefore, I plan the day before to keep balance and note what I urgently need to do. In the evening, I do a checklist of work that hasn’t been done for one reason or another. Then, I put it on the next day’s to-do list according to priority. I do it daily because I dislike planning too far ahead. Even a week is too much for me.
This is the way I combine flexibility and good productivity.
