A Tale of Nightmare

Published by

They longed to listen

to magical fairy tales,

but instead,

they hear the whistle sound

of the bombs.

They wanted to read

plenty of exciting books,

but instead,

they read reports

about the number of deaths.

They liked to play games

with friends and neighbors

but instead,

they find deathly silence in the front yard.

They wished to travel

to explore the world,

but instead,

they are caught

between the ruins of their country.

They dreamed of growing up

contribute to making the world better,

but instead,

disappointed

they discovered

The World has betrayed them.

This is the tale of the living nightmare of war children.
