You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

My current ardent wish is to travel to different foreign countries. However, since summer is approaching and Greece has many wonderful islands, I would prefer to stay in Greece and make this cross-country trip.

I would start from Xanthi by car and head south, making my first stop at Trikala, Kalabaka, to see the beautiful rock formations of Meteora and visit the monasteries at the top of these rock hills.

Then, I would continue driving the southern route with the destination, the Piraeus Port of Athens. From there you can reach all the islands of Greece by ship. This means my cross-country trip will be made by car and ship from now on.

The first island I want to visit is Santorini, where I can see the most beautiful sunset in the world.

The next island is Paros, where I want to visit the Valley of the Butterflies. It’s a treasure of blossoming forest. There, you can listen to the chirping of the cicadas and birds and the splashes of the flowing water and watch the butterflies. But please, do not disturb.

The upcoming station is Tinos Island, where I want to execute my ex-voto to the Virgin Mary at the Holy Church of the Virgin Mary Evangelistria.

The last stop is Ios Island. I wish to visit this Island for the food. They have one of the most famous cheeses, made with milk from goats and sheep. Ios is also renowned for its beautiful beaches.

That sounds like a nice trip. Now, let’s see when I can make it. 😉
