What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

I’ve not been asked about anything very much lately, so there are no questions that could annoy me.

However, three years ago, I was asked a very annoying question that totally ticked me off.

That very classic question when you reach a specific age and people around you start prying into your personal life.

The question was: When will you get married ???????

I still can’t understand why people ask that question. As if marriage is an easy thing, like you wake up one morning and say, “Ah, today I’m going out to find a man, the one I’m going to marry.”

Marriage is a crucial point in one’s life. Marrying means taking responsibility for another person emotionally and legally. For that reason, careful consideration is needed to take this step. Also, nowadays, finding someone you genuinely get along with and share a home and a bed with is very challenging.

It seems I have chosen the right option to wait because looking around me at what is happening with relatives and friends, a lot of them have got divorced or are preparing for divorce.

To those people who have the habit of asking this question, please stop it!
