Junction

Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

The present is the junction point between the past and the future. From that point, we sometimes look back to the past with grievance, remorse, and melancholia; to that degree, we wish we could change some parts we lived through in the past. But God forbid we don’t look only back in anger. There are also happy memories we can look back on with a happy, fulfilled, satisfied feeling.

For the future, we have to look forward to the unknown, which sometimes fills us, because of the unknown, with fear but simultaneously also with hope. A vibrating hope that encourages us to achieve our wishes and goals. We look ahead, hoping life will get better, whether we are struggling in the present or have the power to protect, maintain, and improve our already content life.

Now, where do I lay my focus, on the future or the past?

We can’t change the past, but we can learn from it in the present. The future is unknown, but we have the chance to influence it with the experience we gained in the past.

So, the best solution for me is to think about the present, as this is the point at which you have the power to improve things. Because very soon, the present will be past, and the future will be present.
