Money Spoils…

What principles define how you live?

Principles serve as a red line and a guide for a stable life. Sometimes, however, we have to bypass one of them as circumstances require. But generally, they give us a feeling of security, for example, which people we let in our lives and what direction we want to follow.

My principles are:

1.Don’t tell lies. As a German proverb says, lies have short legs; in the end,

lies always come to the surface.

2.Have dreams and goals, no matter how crazy and many they are, but

work hard for them and, above all, have patience.

3.Help others as much as possible; even small acts can make a difference.

4.Respect and honor your parents. In the Epistle to the Ephesians is written

6:1-4 “Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with

promise.”

5.Always be grateful and never forget those who helped you.

6.Don’t let success get to your head, stay humble, and don’t chase primarily

after money. I have always been convinced that too much money spoils the

character. Recently, I read an article in a German newspaper that

researchers have shown that rich people tend to lie and betray more than

people of lower social status. The Title of the article was: Too much money

brings out our asocial side.

PS The principles are not listed in order of priority.
