Surrounded by what I love

If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

My great weaknesses are books and coffee. So, what could be better than being surrounded by the things you like the most?

To answer the question of what kind of shop I would like to open and sell, my clear answer is I would start a Book-Coffee Shop.

Now, many might think that’s not very creative. Well, my Book-Coffee Shop will be unique.

First, I will sell books ranging from the latest well-known to the oldest rare editions and from new, unknown writers. Of course, my shop will also have a coffee bar, so when people buy their latest books, they can sit on the cozy sofas and armchairs, placed in different spots in the shop, and start reading their new purchases.

My book coffee shop will organize regular reading circles in the evenings, where well-known writers and young aspiring writers can introduce their work to the audience, or a member of the reading circle can present his or her favorite book he or she has read. It is not important whether the writers have already been published. We all know the kind of cross a young writer must bear to finally get published, so I would give them a chance to have direct contact with prospective readers.

By the way, the coffee bar would be transformed into a drinking bar for that occasion. Wouldn’t it be an excellent evening when you can have a glass of pleasurable wine while listening to an exciting story or having an impressive conversation with other book lovers?

Writing contests would also be part of the program, where new writers can read their stories, and the audience will be the ones who decide who the winner will be.

Who knows? Maybe one day I will establish this kind of Book-Coffee Shop.
