Mature with Music

What do you listen to while you work?

Music is a beneficial form of art that serves as a companion during various moods and activities. It allows us to express our feelings more easily and enhances the level of our experiences.

Music is a constant companion in our lives, accompanying us on various occasions. It’s there during festivities and celebrations, in the morning to energize us, and in the evening to help us unwind. But what about during work time, which often spans most of our day?

There are different types of people; some need absolute silence to concentrate on their work, and others are exactly the opposite and need some noise in the background as they get motivated and can do their job more efficiently.

Ever since I can remember, I have listened to music while learning for school or studying for university. It lifts my spirits. Sometimes, I was inclined to listen to more rock sounds and other moments to a funky and groovy music style. So, I listened to the music of Queen, Coldplay, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Killers, Jamiroquai, and George Michael.

Nowadays, while working, I prefer to listen to classical music, such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Mozart, Franz Liszt, and Craig Armstrong. You will think now: Uhh, from Queen and Jamiroquai to Bach and Mozart? How did this happen?

As we grow up and mature, we need smoother, more comfortable, and more relaxing sounds to keep our concentration high and feel pleasure in being and our work.

However, tastes differ, and nothing terrible happens if a hard rock sound is played between my smooth workflow frame. At the end of the day, the essential thing is to have fun and a satisfying result after finishing work.

I completely agree! I’ve noticed that I also need either instrumental or soft classical music for my writing these days. Anything with lyrics or a fast beat just pulls me away from my focus—I find myself wanting to sing or dance instead. By the way, you have great taste in music!

Thank you. Yes, it’s a good combination of music styles. The fast-paced music helps me get ideas for my writing, but classical music works better when I want to turn my ideas into words. 🙂
