Sublime Roundtable

If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

It says anyone is sure to come, also dead people.

First of all, I would invite Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.  Now, you would ask why these three. Plato was a student of Socrates; what we know about Socrates is thanks to Platon, as Socrates was not an admirer of the written word, everything that is delivered about Socrates’ discourses is because Plato wrote them down. On the other hand, Aristotle was a student of Plato. All these three together never lived in the same time frame. So, these three philosophers sitting at one table will guarantee a fascinating discussion about philosophy, life, and how far science developed.

The next person I would invite is Friedrich Nietzsche, one of the most important modern thinkers and an expert in classical philology of his time. He was a big admirer of ancient Greek philosophy and mythology. Nietzsche, joining Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, will add salt and pepper to their discussion.

To round up this interesting philosophical discussion, I would also invite Confucius, who represents a part of Eastern philosophy.

In the end, I think dinner becomes a minor matter after a sublime exchange of views.
