Retiring? Out of Question

How do you want to retire?

At this phase of my life, I don’t think about retiring. Honestly, I don’t want to retire at all. As long as I am doing what I love, there’s no feeling of need to retire because I want to do the job I love till the last day of my life.

I believe being active even in old age is preferable since it keeps your mind working and, in its expansion, positively affects also your body. Recently, I have watched some documentaries about old people between the ages of 70 and 80 who are going to study at the university because, as they say, they feel young and want to learn more and learn new things in life.

I think the idea of retiring is a typical cliche that has been impregnated from many previous generations when they used to say: Oh, when I get retired, I will go on a long cruise, or I will sleep and rest endless hours, or I move to a country where’s every day sunny and I will go to the beach every day, whatever. All this sounds good, but human beings are inclined to be productive; they find their confirmation in the productive progress and its end result. It is good, and it has nothing to do with earning money. It just keeps you active as you grow in the spiritual sense. And I think nobody wants to stop growing spiritually.

So, retiring for me is out of the question.
