What is your favorite season of year? Why?

My favorite season is the transition from spring to summer. Why? It has the most convenient weather for me. It’s not cold but also not too warm. I can enjoy sitting under the sunbeams, drinking cold coffee or any other drink, and warming my spirit and soul. Moreover, I can still get pretty good sleep at night before it gets too too hot for summer.

Unfortunately, this season’s crossover weather doesn’t exist anymore due to climate change. We are going from excellent to hot directly. So, I think it’s time to rethink some of our habits that harm our planet. Otherwise, the effects on us and our Planet Earth will be disastrous. Farmers already complain about bad harvest due to extreme weather events like floodings in exchange with heatwaves.

We expect a heatwave in Greece starting today and for the next three days, with temperatures reaching up to 43 degrees in some places. I want to point out that in May, we had temperatures around 25 degrees; at the end of May, around 30 degrees; and today, on the 11th of June, we will probably hit 40 degrees.

However, to put you in a summer mood, I uploaded a picture from Koufonisia. It’s an island that belongs to the Cycladic Islands group, very close to Naxos.
