On the inside

Who do you spend the most time with?

Arthur Schopenhauer, a German philosopher known for his 1818 work “The World as Will and Representation,” once said, “It’s difficult to find happiness within oneself, but it is impossible to find it anywhere else.”

So, I like to spend time with myself. These are the moments when I feel my true self deeply when I can let my fantasy roam around, create and form my stories and poems, or just dive into a book and be carried away by the story I read.

And back to Schopenhauer’s words, I genuinely feel happy when I am accompanied by myself while doing these simple activities. It was a long way to find and reach this kind of happiness. It may sound easy, but it isn’t; it needs a lot of self-knowledge. However, I think Schopenhauer is right, and I believe that we first have to find happiness in ourselves and within ourselves. Otherwise, we can’t be happy around others or make others or people who are important to us happy.

Ultimately, Schopenhauer is right when he says it is impossible to find happiness anywhere else.
