What are you good at?
Every human has one or more skills at which he is good; some discover these skills early, others later in life. The point is that once you’ve recognized one skill, to improve it by training. I would call these skills the practical ones.
But some skills are characterized by a more mental, emotional touch. I would call these a gift, which you actually can’t improve by training. It’s just there, present from birth. I have one of these skills and believe I am very good at it. My skill is estimating the people I face psychologically and, more than that, calculating their possible feedback. This helps me approach the people effectively and have a pleasant discourse.
Specifically, this ability helped me when I worked at a boutique hotel in the center of Athens. This was a time when I met many people from around the world, from Argentina to New Zealand. Without questioning, I had to face every time a different background of culture and behavior. This skill made it possible for me to deal with the different people in a pleasant way, so in the end, they would be satisfied with their stay in Athens.
