What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

I’m going to answer today’s question with a small fable story.

Every day, a monarch butterfly and a bee met under the half-shade of a red rose tree and chatted about this and that.

But today, the bee was deeply sunken in thought, and yes, it almost left the impression of being melancholic. The butterfly sensed something serious was going on, and with soft thoughtfulness it asked the bee:

“What happened, my dear friend? Why are you so silent?” Asked the butterfly.

“Oh! Life can be so harsh! We live only briefly on this earth, but I wish to see so much of it and enjoy all the luxus long life can offer.”

“But aren’t you satisfied? You just have drunk the most delicious flower nectar that you can find in this town. Every morning, I can’t wait to come to this magical garden on earth, touch every flower, and devour its sweat delicious nectar. This everyday journey makes me so happy and pleased.” Stated the butterfly.

“It’s okay, but there is so much more out there. And only the thought that I don’t have the opportunity to enjoy all the luxuries of life makes me angry and disappointed.” Grumbled the bee.

“Well, I think your problem is that you overthink what you don’t have instead of being satisfied with what you have. That makes you feel hollow and unhappy. On the other hand, happiness and satisfaction come within yourself. If you reach that point of feeling, you can easily reach further to more challenging goals and make the impossible possible.”

The skeptical bee looked at the butterfly, not knowing what to answer, and left with a silent goodbye.

The lesson of this story is: If you aren’t satisfied with yourself, with who you are and what you have, it is impossible to find happiness and satisfaction even if you have all the luxury in life. So, under the line, for me, having it all means when you have reached inner balance, joy, and satisfaction with the aspect of yourself.
