Reflection

What do you do to be involved in the community?

In recent months, I haven’t done much. The reason is that I am very disappointed in the behavior of my fellow citizen; I’ve already mentioned it in a previous post, “Think Collective,” from 27/03/2024, and so far, nothing has changed.

They still behave selfishly, caring about their errands to be done for their own benefit; for example, at the post office, they don’t wait in line, even if everyone has picked up a number. It happened last week. The guy picked up a number and realized he had to wait long, and I heard him murmur: “I’m surely not gonna wait for so long,” and he went directly to the counter. The other thing that annoys me is that they don’t care how they drive at all, like cutting into the traffic without turning signals or parking in the second and sometimes third rows.

Seeing these kinds of things happen on a daily basis makes me not really angry but disheartened because I sense that this behavior is deeply rooted and part of the mentality. So, in the last months, I stepped back, reflected on the unkind behaviors surrounding me, and tried to cope with it through my writing.
