Crucial Change

Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

I have made two crucial life-changing decisions so far. Both are interconnected with one another.

The first one was whether I should participate in the university entrance exam since I wasn’t sure, despite my good grades, I could achieve. My desire was to be accepted at the German department. Finally, I took the exam and got my study place with the difference; I initially wanted to study at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki but got admitted to the University of Athens. Therefore, another big decision had to be made, since Athens is the capital city and I had never lived in such a big city and was a little scared. But I took a big step, which was life-changing. I changed entirely; I usually had been a closed character and learned during that time to open myself more easily and approach people. This shift in character and, of course, my studies widened my horizons. It especially brought me closer and expanded my love for literature. (By the way, I also fulfilled my wish to study at Aristotle University; I made there my Master’s Studies.)

The second big decision. As I said my German studies expanded my love for literature. So, after I had finished my studies and experienced many hardships and failures in the career area I had to decide, which path to follow.

I tried to start writing many times before, even before my studies. But insecurity stopped me every time. This question about writing came up again around two years ago when I had to decide which path to follow. Ultimately, after a second transformation, I jumped over my shadow and fears, chose to focus on writing seriously, and started writing my book. This summer, so God will, it will be published.
